CrowdStrike Named a Leader Again in Gartner 2021 Magic Quadrant for EPP; Placed Furthest on Completeness of Vision

CrowdStrike’s position as a cybersecurity pioneer and innovator has we believe been reaffirmed in the Gartner 2021 Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP), released today. This recognition is the second consecutive time that CrowdStrike has been named a Leader by Gartner.

CrowdStrike was also recognized with highest rank in “Lean Forward” organizations (Type A use case) in the companion report, Gartner 2021 Critical Capabilities for Endpoint Protection Platforms. While the Gartner Magic Quadrant positions vendors in the market, the Gartner Critical Capabilities report provides a deeper dive into the providers’ product and service offerings by identifying which ones best fit various use cases. CrowdStrike is also positioned in the highest two for Type B and Type C use cases, underscoring our mission to stop breaches for customers of all sizes and maturity.

Highest Rating in Completeness of Vision

CrowdStrike placed furthest of all security vendors in the Completeness of Vision category. In our view, our position as furthest to the right within Completeness of Vision demonstrates how committed CrowdStrike is to meet the demands of businesses worldwide and help them to stay ahead of the evolving threat landscape. This validation of the CrowdStrike Falcon® platform shows that organizations are looking to adapt to meet the intricacies of today’s rapid work environment with an end-to-end platform that will offer them the security transformation needed to thrive.

Leaders can become the vendors to watch as you try to understand how new market offerings might evolve. Leaders typically possess a large, satisfied customer base (relative to the size of the market) and enjoy high visibility within the market. They provide mature offerings that meet market demand and have demonstrated the vision necessary to sustain their market position as requirements evolve — and their size and financial strength enable them to remain viable in a challenging economy.

We believe the CrowdStrike Falcon® endpoint protection platform, purpose-built to solve modern security challenges, is key to our leadership in the endpoint protection market. We continue to gain new customers at a rapid pace, displacing both legacy and next-generation vendors.

Our Falcon platform, powered by cloud-scale AI running on the proprietary CrowdStrike Threat Graph® database and patented smart-filtering technology, defends organizations without compromising speed and performance, with cloud-based architecture to secure workloads and workforces anywhere and at any given time. Our strategy to unite a broad range of technologies and tools — including next-generation antivirus, endpoint detection and response (EDR), managed threat hunting, IT hygiene, threat intelligence, identity protection, cloud security and vulnerability management, all delivered via a lightweight, cloud-native agent — has proven to be the unique, innovative approach customers want and need.

Highest Rank for “Lean Forward” Organization Use Case

An essential companion to the Gartner Magic Quadrant, the Gartner Critical Capabilities for Endpoint Protection Platforms is a comparative analysis that scores key products or services against a set of critical differentiators identified by Gartner. This year, the report positions CrowdStrike with the highest rank for “Lean Forward” organizations (Type A use case). Type A organizations “tend to focus on best-of-breed solutions that address their business, technology and security needs, and have the capability to integrate, develop or build custom-made components as required.” Of the 19 vendors evaluated, CrowdStrike is also the only vendor to rank in the top two across all use cases (Types A-C).

Gartner differentiates critical capabilities according to the following use cases:

  • Type A organizations, also referred to as “lean forward” organizations, adopt new technologies very early in the adoption cycle.
  • Type B organizations aim to stay relatively current on technology without getting too far ahead or behind their competition.
  • Type C organizations typically view technology as an expense or operational necessity, and use it as a means to reduce costs.

Additionally, CrowdStrike had the highest rating among vendors named in the 2019 and 2020 Gartner Peer Insights “Voice of the Customer” for Endpoint Detection and Response Solutions Reports. Gartner Peer Insights documents customer experience through verified ratings and peer reviews from enterprise IT professionals.

Extending the Power of the Falcon Platform

Built in the cloud for the cloud, CrowdStrike Falcon® unifies and simplifies cloud workload security through a single platform that enables the simple and rapid rollout of new workload protection capabilities without impacting performance, or adding complexity or overhead. Falcon provides a sophisticated yet easy user experience to help businesses stop cyber breaches through harnessing the massive power of the cloud to protect workloads across all environments — including in private, public and hybrid data centers and on-premises.

As Chief Marketing Officer, I’m very proud of CrowdStrike’s placement in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for EPP, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue executing on our vision for extending the Falcon platform while remaining steadfast in our commitment to stopping breaches.
