CrowdStrike Positioned Highest for Ability to Execute and Furthest for Completeness of Vision in the Visionary Quadrant of the 2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms

“Vision without execution is hallucination.” – Thomas Edison

In just our second year of inclusion in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms(EPP), I’m thrilled to announce that CrowdStrike® is positioned highest in ability to execute and furthest in completeness of vision in the Visionary quadrant.  It’s an honor to receive this recognition from Gartner, whom we believe to be the most influential analyst agency in the world. We believe our position in the MQ validates that CrowdStrike has built a true next-generation endpoint protection platform — one that combines the most advanced endpoint protection with expert intelligence.

Vision and execution are the key pillars for any successful vendor, and our excellence in these two important categories speaks to CrowdStrike’s overarching commitment to protect our customers. Completeness of vision is based on criteria such as market understanding, innovation, and strategy. Ability to execute is based on criteria such as core products and services, market responsiveness, customer experience, and overall viability.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. We believe our positioning clearly illustrates how CrowdStrike has differentiated itself in the market.

How Did We Do It?

In late 2017, in response to changing market dynamics and client requirements, Gartner adjusted their definition of Endpoint Protection Platforms. Gartner noted that organizations are placing a premium on protection and detection capabilities within an EPP, and are depreciating the EPP vendors’ ability to provide data protection capabilities such as data loss prevention, encryption or server controls. For 2018, this is a “transformative period for the EPP market, and as the market has changed, so has the analysis profile used for this research.”  We believe the CrowdStrike Falcon® platform aligns perfectly with the recommendations outlined by Gartner as the new standard in endpoint security.

Over the past year, CrowdStrike has fully replaced legacy endpoint protection suites, including integrated next-generation antivirus that uses advanced machine learning and behavioral analysis to supplant and surpass traditional AV in both efficacy and performance. Our business results and customer base have more than doubled.  The company has expanded its global footprint with rapid growth in Europe, APAC, and Latin America. We are the only next-generation vendor offering the full spectrum of endpoint security capabilities, including next-gen AV, endpoint detection and response (EDR), managed threat hunting, IT hygiene, threat intelligence and vulnerability management — all fully integrated and delivered via the cloud using a single lightweight agent.

As the CEO and co-founder, I couldn’t be more pleased with this assessment of CrowdStrike by the industry’s leading IT analyst firm. I am deeply honored, and deeply grateful to our customers, partners and employees for their vision and commitment to stopping breaches.
