Prestigious list credits Alperovitch for groundbreaking security investigations, analyses, and attribution of election-related breaches
Irvine, CA — Sept. 13, 2016 – CrowdStrike, the leader in cloud-delivered next-generation endpoint protection, today announced that Dmitri Alperovitch, CrowdStrike’s co-founder and chief technology officer, has been named into the Politico 50 list for 2016. This prestigious ranking recognizes the 50 people across the country whose actions and ideas are transforming American politics and society.
Alperovitch was recognized for the pivotal role he played in the investigation and public disclosure of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) breach and other cyber intrusions targeted at the election process and the integrity of the American democratic system. Under his leadership, CrowdStrike has discovered and revealed critical analyses of cyber intrusions and influence campaigns against the United States political system and supported organizations in their fight against advanced nation state adversaries.
“I am incredibly honored to receive this recognition and stand amongst so many notable leaders who have transformed the face of our policy, politics, and society,” said Dmitri Alperovitch, CrowdStrike’s chief technology officer and co-founder. “In 2016, we witnessed the profound impact of cyber attacks on our nation’s security, democracy, values, and future prosperity. This recognition is a great validation for the importance of CrowdStrike’s mission to stop breaches. As the first cybersecurity industry executive to be named to this prestigious list, I am incredibly humbled to accept this recognition on behalf of the entire CrowdStrike team whose achievements this award honors.”
A renowned computer security researcher and relentless innovator, Alperovitch has previously been honored as Foreign Policy’s Top 100 Global Thinkers, named as MIT Technology Review’s Top 35 Innovators Under 35 and recognized twice as Washingtonian’s Tech Titan. A globally recognized thought leader on cyber policy and state tradecraft, he has been the driving force behind many of the groundbreaking investigations in cybersecurity industry. These investigations have uncovered numerous nation-state intrusions that have served as critical milestones in public’s understanding of the evolution of the cyber threat landscape.
As the technical mastermind behind CrowdStrike’s technology, Alperovitch has ushered an entirely new approach to protecting organizations and keeping their data and systems safe by pioneering the first cloud-delivered endpoint security platform that is capable of stopping and attributing attempted breaches from the most sophisticated nation-state, criminal and hacktivist adversaries.
